The Issue of Love

Magazine covers overflow with the promise of love...
How to find it! How to keep it alive! How to make it last! Finding love has become the pursuit that is supposed to heal our hearts and fill every ache within us.

The Human Love

The love we read about and hear about in the media is human love. We are born with it. Human love is the most beautiful flower the world has to offer, but it can hide a thorn, because it often causes heartaches, divorces, broken homes, and wrecked relationships.

Nancy Missler describes human love by saying:
  • Human love is conditional because it depends on us, how we feel, what our circumstances are, or how the other person responds to us.
  • Human love is bondage because it puts the one loving in the bondage to expectations and forces the one being loved to respond from defenses rather than the heart.
  • Human love is a self-centered love because it puts its own interests above the interest of others.

The Love of God

Contrary to human love stands God's love. Not everyone has experienced God's love but that does not change the truth that God's love is real and unconditional:
  • God's love is a gift. A gift that is poured into our hearts.
  • God's love is one-sided because it doesn't have to be returned to be kept alive.
  • God's Love is freeing because it frees the lover from expectations, allowing love to flow from heart and not from the defenses.
God's unconditional love is not based on human understanding, human desire, human emotion, others responses, or the circumstances that we are in. It depends on God and he never changes, neither does his love. Our Creator loves us just the way he created us and his love is the most fulfilling of all.

Alway remember this: You Are Loved With An Everlasting Love!

Letting Go Of The Past

LET GO AND MOVE ON! Being set free from the Past means accepting what is true, not what we wish was true. Sometimes we have to make peace with what was or is, to be able to let go and move on. So many of us put ourselves in situations to be hurt over and over again by the same persons in the believe that things will be different. We klingt to our dreams of what we wish the past could have been and set ourselves up to be hurt or disappointed again. If you find yourself in such a situation, I encourage you to let go of the past. •  Let go of what should have been. •  Embrace what is. •  Embrace the now. •  Embrace what can be. By so doing you set yourself free and create a different reality that will birth something new into your future. Don't hold on to the past, don't keep going over old history.  Be alert, be present. God is about to do something brand-new in your life. Love, Esther Nana Schmidt Picture source: Stock ( F...
